Summer Mint 2013

As I was leafing through the pages of my May InStye, Lucky, Vogue, and Elle Magazines last night, sitting in my swinging hammock chair and enjoying the soft California breeze whirling me around a bit, I couldn't help but notice that almost everything that caught my eye was a variation on mint green. Mint tip nails, sweet and sexy summer dresses, strappy sandals, and leather cross body handbags; all minty!

Now it could be that I just love mint chocolate chip ice cream (true) and that is why the color popped out to me so often? Or, it could be that I've been pinning minty green style items here for the past few weeks? Or, maybe its just that mint is in fact, super FLY? No matter, I'm officially calling it. Mint has been popular this spring yes, but I believe it will be the color of summer. Fresh, soft and stylish, the color brings me right back to my childhood and my favorite outfit with a knotted corner puffy paint design t-shirt over stretch pants with the same print on the knee, and a color combination of pastel pink, grey, and mint green. I was 7, and it was cool then. They do say everything makes a come back, and since turning thirty, I've begun to notice the truth in that. I never thought I'd see stretch pants again, and yet walking through the mall they are probably the most worn item... and have been for the past few years! I am seriously considering finding a crimper on ebay to be ahead of the eventual trend {man I loved crimped hair!}. The only thing stopping me is the amount of space I don't have in my bathroom.

Anyway, back to mint.. here are a few photos I pulled from my Spring/Summer 2013: Mint pintrest board of just a few examples of the color being used in cool and fun ways..

Alright ya'll.. go head out to Nordtsrom or Forever 21, or if you're me, Anthropologie, and get yourself some mint and have a hip and happy summer!
