I'm pretty sure that Katy dreams in rainbows and Disney cartoons. She's one of the sweetest, cutest, most kind Senior's I've ever met; respectful, courteous and thoughtful... I could keep going, but major credit to Katy's parents. Truly, this is the kid you always want (my upcoming marriage has me thinking about the next step.. oh no!) and her parents should be (and ARE) extremely proud of the young woman she has grown into.
I've been getting to know Katy for the past few months, and absolutely adore her. She is just so willing to do whatever is needed, and make herself available to her friends and family, and so so eager to know more about photo. When she shyly started asking me about Senior portraits in class, I knew it was on. After our consultation meeting, I discovered even more about this sweet girl.. she's a bit of a romantic, loves vintage anything, and adores photography class (win for me, since I'm also her teacher!), and is her high school's ASB President. Katy is a fantastic leader, and just a wonderful young woman.
So, for Katy's fabulous, totally "her" photo shoot, she and I discussed vintage locations, bringing old cameras, and playing with romantic styling for hair makeup and wardrobe. We started our day at a really cool old home in San Dimas, and followed up in the little town center. Its absolutely adorable and was such a fun and new and interesting location to shoot in. Katy, her mom, and I explored and played.. there were kittens, old cars, lots of laughter and all sorts of fun. It was freezing! But Katy was such a trooper, and we had a blast playing with poses and her grandpa's old Canon film camera.
Blessings Katy, truly. I wish you everything wonderful this year and for years to come as you pursue your dreams... I see something photo in your future!! Woohoo!!!! LOVE it!
