Happy Graduation to some super FLY Girls!!!

The VHS class of 2013 was, shall we say "eager", to get the ball rolling on graduation night this past Thursday June 13th. Loads of students in blue (VHS Color), white (IB Graduates), or grey gowns (VHS technology degree) and caps flooded VHS at 5pm, tassels hanging, gowns unzipped, to line up for one of the most exciting days of their lives to date. High School Graduation.  Perfume in the air, the smell of Hawaiian lei's, girls and guys dressed to the nines.. everyone in a gown was anxious, eager, and mostly just really really excited. I witnessed lots of hugs, a few tears, and the air of fun and happiness and youthfulness and friendship everywhere. This was their day and they were going to live it up! They had done the work, and now it was time for the payoff and to move on.

I watched many many girls in platform wedges so tall they could barely walk scoot, literally scoot, not walk past me as I snagged each of my VHS FLY Seniors out of the crowd for a fast 2 second head shot in their caps and gowns and a quick congratulatory hug and well wishes. My girls looked SO beautiful, and so excited.. you could sense the mix of emotions in them. Happiness and fear. What is next? What will they become? Where will life lead them? So much hope and excitement mixed in with a little tiny bit of terror at the thought of leaving the place that so many have called a second home for the past 4 years. High School graduation is such a beautiful thing in so many ways.. a right of passage into adulthood and independence I feel even more so then an 18th birthday, which is funny, but somehow true.

My lovely VHS girls this year {Katy, Emily, Brittney, Lora, Corinne, Grace, Sarah, Moira, Liana, Angelica,  Aly & Jacqueline} are absolutely the most fantastic young women. They will all move on to bigger and better things in the next few year no doubt, growing into the women that they will become. So exciting to see...

To my ladies- What a privilege it has been for me to be even just a small part of your lives this past year! I wish you ALL an insanely lovely life and all my best as you move on from your home away from home! You will each be missed!

Every happiness lovely FLY ladies!!!
