Grace is the sweetest. She's darling, and kind, and is all smiles. When we met to talk about her shoot, her mom was exactly the same... obvious where she gets this tenderness from. I loved meeting with Grace and her mom, and wanted her shoot to be something really fun and special. Grace is beautiful, and her incredibly sweet spirit comes out in her manner, and I wanted something that felt elegant, and pretty, but then also gritty, because this girl still has a little bit of edge.
I chose Claremont because Grace is both traditional and yet still somehow pulls of a little edginess. Claremont was the perfect choice for this awesome Senior, and while I've shot there a number of times before, it has such a wealth of different areas I knew we would get something completely unique for Grace. After amazing styling with Bree, I mean seriously, Grace looked incredible, we made our way down to the city central and played around in some of the neighborhood areas of downtown. We ventured into all sorts of fun backlots and found beautiful brick walls covered with ivy, a fantastic old house with the perfect backyard for bokeh! My fav! It was a blast and Grace was a natural.
Next I wanted to give Grace some clean backgrounds so we moved on to the more modern new construction over near American Apparel. Grace changed into her gorgeous homecoming dress and these darling sparkly heels and posed the heck out the scenes I placed her in. I loved the deep blue color of her dress with her perfect skin (ohhh jealousy!). Gorgeous!
Ending at the train tracks, Grace and I found our stride and killed the last set while the sun was setting... that golden light was stunning, and so was Grace!! Her cute little black jacket and those deep purples!!! Aaahhh!!! As a brunette, I totally get her color palette! Love! We played on the train tracks (in a safe way, don't worry) and Grace found me hysterical as a passenger train passed by us and I nearly fell over thinking it was on our track (man those things are LOUD!). Really though, Grace is amazing, and sweet and we had a ball talking together, chatting about church and life and high school and her plans for the future. It was a pleasure.. so much more then just taking pictures friends, it was a time to hang and have fun.. ahh... love this work 😉
Blessings lovely Grace, you no doubt, have an incredible future ahead of you! Enjoy these last few months (and these pix!!)
