I have known Joy since she was only 8 years old. I started doing the math on her shoot while talking to her mother Sherri (who I call Aunt Sherri, yup, its like that), and then realized we had all known each other for nearly ten years! Joy is my very best friend in the world's cousin. Needless to say our paths have crossed often over the years, and in many ways we are family. So this shoot was extremely fun to do. Family is always like that.
A glam-up visit to Bree, and a few episodes of ANTM later and little Joy emerged as the beautiful young woman she has grown up to be. Ok, I feel old. I mean, I met this kid when she was in grammar school... running around like a crazy little thing. She was adorable then, and now... Wow. Senior year and absolutely stunning. Joy's a total Tom-boy, super rock star soccer player, and just a funny and fun woman, so seeing her move for my camera and transform into this grown-up woman was an absolutely beautiful and amazingly fun experience! {The side bar conversation amongst us all was pretty fun too! Love catching up..}
We started our day near Carbon Canyon Park in the Brea Canyon area, and explored the trails leading up and in through the Chico State Park area. Sherri and Danny (both parents joined us) were adorable and encouraged Joy and me the whole way. In fact Danny was holding the gate in some of these shots! Total parent participation, and such a loving family. I'm thrilled with the way that these images turned out, and Joy is such a gorgeous young woman, it was so much fun to work with her and play 😉
Every blessing for a beautiful future my little friend!
