Jessica, Class of 2012

Jessica makes cakes. I’m pretty sure it’s her love language. She makes cakes for everyone. I’m pretty sure her friends have come to expect it. So, when considering a location for this trendy, cool, hip, beautiful and incredibly thoughtful Senior, I thought there could be nowhere better then The Perfect Circle Cupcakery; winner of the Cupcake Warson the Food Network. Seeing as I’m a total foodie myself, it was also a great excuse to try the place. What fun!!!

So, to start out our day, Jessica visited Bree for hair and makeup where I picked her up looking ridiculously fabulous!! Along with her BFF Brianna, I drove us down to the Orange Circle in downtown Orange. I love the Orange Circle. It is so quaint and lovely. One can easily walk past an elderly couple holding hands on one corner and a cool hipster couple sitting at a sidewalk café smoking at the next. It has all sorts of interesting people, and restaurants, and it just felt perfect for my girl Jessica… and the cupcake store. Ahhh.. the cupcake store. There is a reason that place won cupcake wars. For Jess, a double chocolaty monstrosity of deliciousness.. for me, the winning treat: banana with cream cheese frosting. Normally I would have chosen what Jessica had {I always choose chocolate} but I was feeling adventurous. Again, there is a reason that place won cupcake wars. YUM! Big YUM!

As we explored downtown, we came across all sorts of cool backgrounds for Jess’s black and white outfit; Brianna in tow. We chit chatted and played with light and then I sent Jess back into a local restaurant to change into her last outfit.

There is this super cute little garden shop, Dragonfly Shops and Gardens, located over near an awesome super healthy restaurant I frequent in downtown called Rutabegorz. I’ve stopped in at this garden shop a few times to purchase some succulents (which I’m sort of obsessed with lately), so I new it would be a fun spot for photography. We played there a bit, wandered along the street, got yelled at for “trespassing” in a parking lot {first time people, gotta memorialize that moment}, then made our way into a back alley and up onto a cool gritty staircase. I loved how Jess just got comfortable and relaxed into these poses. I mean- geez, this girl is gorgeous. Does she have a bad angle.. I think not.

Jessica, my birthday is February 23. Chocolate with Chocolate frosting. Oh.. and Happy Senior year. I know you’ll do beautifully. Blessings!
